Our goal is to achieve a 30% reduction in water consumption within two years, supported by smarter water management, monitoring and longer-term opportunities such as water recycling.
Waste
We are working towards a 50% reduction in waste production over three years, with a focus on circular economy initiatives, recycling, composting and collaboration with suppliers.
Carbon
Over the next five years, we are aiming for a 50% reduction in our carbon footprint, with the longer-term ambition of becoming carbon neutral by 2030.
Saving Water, One Refill at a Time
Water conservation is already part of our everyday hotel operations.
Guests staying with us can use water refill stations on every guest floor, making it easy to refill reusable bottles throughout their stay. We also provide reusable water bottles, encouraging guests to choose refilling rather than relying on single-use alternatives.
Our Greener Stay programme gives guests staying for more than one night the opportunity to skip daily room servicing. This helps reduce the water and energy required for cleaning and laundry, while participating guests can receive 500 IHG One Rewards points as a thank-you.
We also offer flavoured water in our lobby, providing a refreshing alternative while helping to reduce unnecessary bottled-water use.
Behind the scenes, our teams play an equally important role by reporting leaks promptly, ensuring taps are fully turned off and using water responsibly during cleaning.

We have invested in energy-efficient heated buffet counters, helping improve temperature control and food presentation while supporting more efficient energy use. Plans are also underway to introduce modern refrigerated buffet counters, further improving efficiency.
From Our Herb Garden to Your Plate
One of the most visible examples of our approach to sustainable hospitality is our on-site herb garden.
Our chefs use herbs grown at the hotel across our kitchens, bringing fresh, natural flavours to the dining experience. Growing herbs on-site also helps us reduce food miles, minimise waste and support more responsible sourcing. These are key messages highlighted in our Herb Garden sustainability poster.
It is a simple initiative, but it demonstrates how sustainability can become part of everyday hotel operations – from growing ingredients to serving them fresh to our guests.
More Sustainable Meetings & Events
Our sustainability approach also extends to our meetings and events.
In our Conference Centre, we use reusable glassware and ceramic cups for tea and coffee, helping reduce single-use paper and plastic. We have also introduced digital collateral and signage, reduced lighting during low-occupancy periods and removed a number of single-use items from our event spaces.
Our Conference Centre also uses IHG Green Engage, IHG’s sustainability system designed to help hotels reduce environmental impacts and utility costs.
With 14 meeting rooms and the Heather Suite accommodating large conferences and events, these small changes can make a meaningful difference across the many meetings and gatherings hosted at the hotel.
