Since it opened almost 30 years ago, the centre has long been a favourite of those around the country. With over 7,000 parking spaces and alongside a major motorway the Blanchardstown town centre is very accessible. There are over 600 busses that stop here each day.
When you go to the shopping centre, you’re one of 16 million that pass through the door each day. However, at Crowne Plaza we make you feel like the only one to pass through our doors when you stay with us.
Where to go in the Blanchardstown Centre
You’re in the largest destination shopping centre, it will be difficult to find your way around at the start. We’ve got a handy breakdown of the areas within the centre.
The Main Centre
The main centre is huge. In fact, it’s over 1.2 million square feet. It’s packed with all kind of stores, fashion, sport, footwear, services, games and a lot of Restaurant / Cafés.
Ground Floor
When you walk from the Crowne Plaza, the two minute walk will bring you to the entrance on the northside of the retail unit. You will walk in to the first anchor store, Dunnes.
Along this route you will see some well known international store, Nike, anchor tenants Flannels, Starbucks, and JD Sports. Those who have visited the centre before will remember the large fountain in the main area.
This has been removed and plans are in place for a kid’s entertainment area here.
You will find the Build a Bear store here, an excellent bonding time for your kids and their new stuffed bear.
As you continue down this avenue of retail spaces, you come to BT2.
This store is well known from it’s Dublin City flagship store, Brown Thomas.
Shop the latest fashion, with Haute couture, designer clothing and homeware all available in store.
First Floor
Take the elevator to the first floor to continue shopping in Ireland’s largest shopping centre. The first floor is packed with stores, ranging from cosmetics to designer, newsagents to bookstores and a tonne of fashion too.
Zara has a huge store in the middle of the shopping area, alongside top brands like Hollister, Calvin Klein and Superdry. As you nearer the end of the indoor shopping area, you will find the kiosks area. This is surrounded by smaller stores and a large Penneys, the Irish version of Primark.
This area has a lot of dining options, with Burger King, McDonalds, Nando’s and so much more all beside the Odeon Cinema complex.
Retail Park 1
The Crowne Plaza is nestled between both Retail Park 1 & 2, so you’re merely seconds from these stores.
In park 1, along with retail car parking spaces, you’ll find electronics store Currys, EZ Living and Home Focus. However, those staying at the hotel on a Golfing Trip, will be glad to see McGuirks Golf.
In McGuirks, avid golfers will come away with an excellent deal on clothing, clubs, rainwear, balls and accessories. Be sure to stop in, if you’re on a golf trip to Dublin.
Retail Park 2
In retail park 2, you will find a lot more retail stores, Lifestyle Sports have a large outlet and offer a range of football clothing, runners and athletic clothes. Next to this, TK Maxx’s largest Irish store is a bargain lover’s dream. With huge savings on offer.
If you’re staying at the Crowne Plaza with kids, you will have to visit Smyths toy superstore. As an adult, you will be in awe at the floor to ceiling shelves filled with the latests toys, games, gadgets and so much more.
West End Retail Park
Situated within the area of the centre, this retail park is not an official part of the shopping centre.
If you venture over, you will find Sports Direct which offers excellent deals on sportswear, clothing, footwear and equipment. Homely goods and high end affordable fashion can be found in Next, which has a large store in this commercial unit.
If you’ve had enough of shopping, have a coffee in Costa. This chain cafe is well known within Ireland for it’s huge coffees. Their large mugs have two handles, you’ll need it to pick up the mug!
Entertainment Facilities at Blanchardstown Centre
Along with shopping and dining, there are other fun things to do in Blanchardstown centre for adults, teens and kids.
Leisure plex entertainment centre
One of five locations around the country, Leisureplex is a entertainment centre with lots of activities. Take part in ten pin bowling or duck and dive through laser beams at Q-zar.
The kids will love the soft play area at Leisureplex. Glide down the maze of slides, through the tunnels and dive into the ball pools. Parents can make use of the comfortable seating area while kids have all the fun.
All of their fun centres have pool and snooker tables, which can be rented by the hour. If you still want more, take on the computer in some arcade games. Choose from modern and retro consoles in the arcade arena.
Arts centre
Blanchardstown Town Centre is also home to the Draíocht, an arts centre that is committed to the local community and beyond. They offer an eclectic mix of programming, including performance, visual and musical shows.
Catching a show at the Draíocht would bring the curtain down on an excellent day of shopping in the centre before coming back to your room in the Crowne Plaza.
