Recently certified as a Great Place to Work in Ireland, we were also recognised as one of the Best Medium Workplaces and Best Workplace within the Hospitality sector in Ireland for 2023.

Our hotels are a place to Grow as we foster a workplace environment where people can thrive by taking part in both internal and external monthly trainings. Our managers take part in the Management Guidance training each year to best support and lead their large teams to deliver exceptional results in all areas such as Front Office, Housekeeping, Conferences etc.

Our hotel takes part in the yearly IHG Giving for Good, where our team get involved in Sustainability activities including litter pickups, beach clean-ups, bee/insect hotels and bird houses. We are involved with the Community through various events such as inviting the local nursing homes for Bingo, lunch, and a raffle and lastly, we host charity bake offs to raise funds for our chosen charities, which includes Childrens Hospitals and Mental Health. The money raised is then matched by our organisation and on top of that we involve the team in additional activities like Blood donation, food banks, hiking and team fitness challenges.

Interest in sustainable and responsible travel practices has grown significantly in recent years. This is being driven by a number of factors, including people becoming more mindful about travelling and consciously following recommendations.

Organisations around the world are setting goals to minimise their environmental footprint, including the impacts associated with business travel.

These broader trendlines also extend to the Events industry, where the appetite for sustainable events offerings has grown considerably in the post-pandemic return to in-person event formats.

And, as meeting planners continue to incorporate virtual and hybrid meeting formats into their consideration set, sustainably factors are becoming an important differentiator in an increasingly completive bid process for the in-person events that are being held.

Against the backdrop of these trends, we have developed our 2024 – 2026 sustainability policy to help meet the evolving needs and expectations surrounding sustainability in the Events space.

We have introduced the following in our Events Centre:

We have removed plastic water bottles from our Event space, offering glassware and bottles for water service during events.

We use digital alternatives for collateral and sales agreements.

We have implemented a reduced lighting policy in pre – function spaces, meeting spaces and offices during low or no occupancy periods and lighting motion sensors are used in all corridors in the Event Centre.

We have reduced the use of paper signage and are utilising digital signage as much as possible going forward.

We have implemented single use free meetings. We have removed single use items such as notepads, pens and coasters all our event spaces and all mints provided in rooms have sustainable sweet wrappers.

Whiteboards are also offered as an alternative to flipcharts.

We have a tool that enables us to track and calculate the carbon footprint of our meeting rooms.

We use IHG’s online sustainability system which helps hotels save money on utility costs and reduces environmental impacts.

For delegates arriving at Blanchardstown, there are several conveniently located transport links to Dublin City Centre. These include a taxi rank which directly drops guests to the hotel. Alternatively, delegates can commute using the Transport for Ireland Bus routes, with many stopping directly across from the hotel’s main entrance.
